The Yost Vises all-steel utility combination pipe and bench vise features a 360-degree swivel base that mounts to a workbench, providing light-duty clamping action. The swivel base allows for adjusting the direction of the jaws to ensure proper placement, and can be secured in position by hand-tightening the two lock knobs on the base.
Crafted from cast steel, the vise's body has a black painted finish, offering mild protection against corrosion. The body features a flat portion that acts as a reinforced anvil and provides an additional work surface. The top jaws and pipe jaws are both grooved to enhance grip. The top jaws are made of hardened steel and can be replaced when worn, while the pipe jaws are cast in place.
The jaws can be drawn closer together or farther apart by turning the vise handle clockwise or counterclockwise. The main screw that controls the jaws is continuously rolled for high strength and is covered by a bar to protect it from damage. Rubber washers on either side of the handle prevent unwanted sliding when turning, and the balls on each end of the handle can be unscrewed to enable replacement if the handle becomes worn.
With a 6-inch nominal top jaw width and a 1/2-inch to 2-inch diameter pipe capacity, this bench-mount vise provides clamping action for light-duty applications. The 360-degree swivel base allows for precise positioning of the jaws, while the durable cast steel construction and protective features ensure reliable performance.
